I guided a morning group of 4 guests, 3 of whom caught a limit of silver salmon, and 1 of whom caught 1 chum salmon and 1 silver salmon while casting with Flashtrap Spinners. The last member fishing decided to call it a day so we skipped the last hour of fishing and headed back to the landing ealry.
I guided an afternoon group of 4 guests and once again 3 guests limited on silver salmon and the 4th guest caught 1 silver salmon, but opted to quit early when she was the only one left fishing. all of the fish were caught while casting with Flashtrap and Vibrax Spinners.

I guided 3 guests, 2 of whom caught a limit of silver salmon, and 1 of whom caught a single silver salmon. The group also caught some chum and pink salmon while casting #5 Flashtrap Spinners.

I guided a morning group of 3 guest and 1 photographer. The 3 guests each caught a limit of silver salmon while casting #5 Pink and #5 Silver / Black Flashtrap Spinners.
I guided an afternoon group of 3 guests, each of whom caught a limit of silver salmon whlie casting with #5 Flashtrap Spinners.
Note To Those Fishing the Little Susitna River — the Alaska Department of FIsh and Game issued an emergency order restricting the Little Susitna River to artificial lures only starting August 6 — the date on which the bait fishery would normally open. We plan to continue guiding salmon fishing charters using artificial lures as we have been doing so far on the Little Susitna River. We may also elect to guide some of our salmon fishing trips to the Deshka River.

I guided and fished with a group of 3 guests, and each of us caught a limit of coho salmon while casting with Flashtrap Spinners. during the boat ride along the river, the guests spotted a bull moose just of to the side.

I guided a morning group of 4 guests, each of whom caught a limit of silver salmon while casting with Flashtrap Spinners. Like usual #5 Silver / Black and #5 Pink were the patterns we fished and caught fish with.
I guided an afternoon group of 4 guests who caught a total of 5 silver salmon, 1 chum salmon, and 2 pink salmon. Once again all of the fish were caught while castign with #5 Flashtrap Spinners.

LIttle Susitna RIver Closed to Silver Salmon FIshing After August 9 — so we will be guiding the rest of our silver salmon trips on other rivers.

I guided a morning group of 4 guests, who caught 1 king salmon (which was released immediately), 1 rainbow trout, and 1 sucker. The group also hooked and lost 2 other salmon and we saw a few salmon rolling in most of the locations we fished, but we had difficulty getting many goo d bites. All of our fish ere caught on Fired Cured salmon roe drifted under ESB Bobbers.

I guided a morning group of 5 guests, who boated 9 coho salmon while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe drifted under ESB Bobbers.
I guided an afternoon group of 4 adults with some kids who also briefly fished. The group caught a total of 4 coho salmon while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers. During the trip the group also saw a moose standing along the river, and in no hurry to move off, providing a photo opportunity.

I guided and fished with an afternoon group of 2 guests, and each of us caught a limit of coho salmon while drifting salmon roe under ESB Bobbers. In the afternoon the fish were biting well enough at the first spot we stopped for each of my guests to limit out without moving.

I guided an afternoon group of 4 guests, 3 of whom caught limits of coho salmon, and 1 of whom had a few bites, but did not manage to catch a salmon.

I guided a morning group of 4 guests, 3 of whom caught a limit of coho salmon, and 1 of whom caught 1 coho salmon. In addition, the group caught a chum salmon, rainbow trout, pink salmon, and whitefish. All of the fish were caught while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers.
I fished with relatives in the afternoon, and we caught 8 coho salmon and 1 rainbow trout while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers.

I guided an afternoon group of 4 guests who caught 6 coho salmon, 1 pink salmon, 2 whitefish, and 2 suckers while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers. The group decided to head back and quit fishing before the scheduled end of the trip.

I guided an afternoon group of 2 people, each of whom caught a limit of coho salmon while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers. At the first hole my guests nearly caught their entire limit in a manner of minutes — but not quite, and we ended up fishing many additional spots before the 2nd guest finally caught the last coho. It was a wonderful sunny afternoon of fishing.

I guided a morning group of 4 guests, each of whom caught a limit of coho salmon while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers. It rained during the entire time we were fishing with harder intensity as the trip went on. The rain stopped, however, and weather started to clear as we were filleting the catch at the end of the trip. I’m scheduled to fish again tomorrow, and should have that report posted by early evening.

I guided a morning group of 5 guests, who caught a total of 7 silvers , 1 chum salmon, and some smaller fish. The group also had additional action hooking and fighting salmon, that managed to pull loose before we could boat them. All of the fish were caught drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers.

I guided a group of 5 guests, 2 of whom caught limits of silver salmon, and 3 of whom caught 1 silver salmon each. In addition the group also caught several chum salmon, 2 Dolly Varden, 1 rainbow trout. All of the fish were caught while drifting Fire Cured salmon roe under ESB Bobbers.

I had several people scheduled to fish today, but because of poor water conditions following heavy rains yesterday and last night, each group decided to postpone or cancel their trips.
Weather is clearing up now, later in the day, although I do not know if the water will drop and clean up by tomorrow or not.
Tuesday August 28 is the last day I am now planning to be available to guide a salmon fishing trip in the Mat-Su Valley this year.
